The shelter

Since 2007,
thousands of second chances.

Adoption Lapins Sans Abri (ALSA) was founded in 2007 by Nancy Lachance. Since then, thousands of rabbits have received a second chance thanks to the shelter and its network of foster homes.

The ALSA shelter team gathered outdoors for a group photo, holding a rabbit.

Our story

Never euthanasia of convenience.

We never have shelter rabbits euthanized, except when it is the only option available to us, and for medical reasons only.

When a health problem arises, rabbits are taken to the vet and we cover all the costs, thanks to the donations we receive.

Our mission

Give abandoned domestic rabbits a second chance

By having them adopted by conscientious people, ensuring they are spayed or neutered, and raising public awareness of rabbits’ real needs.

Our mission also includes education to raise awareness of their needs, behaviour and the responsibilities that come with adopting them.

Our vision

Be the number one reference in Québec.

For the public, organizations, businesses and municipalities contributing to the fulfilment and well-being of rabbits.

Our values

What guides us.

Respect

ALSA champions respect for all living beings, whatever their species, situation or personality. Valuing differences and communicating openly form the basis of all our relationships.

Expertise

ALSA offers experienced advice to the public, municipalities, organizations and businesses: decision support, guidance and awareness of rabbit needs and behaviour.

Partnership

ALSA builds partnerships with organizations, businesses and artisans that promote animal welfare. These alliances highlight mutual support and back our mission.
